We are very pleased to announce through a concerted effort led by your post commander Buddy Gillam and communications team members, the channels to reach our membership and general public is expanding. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Dennis Hamilton, lifetime member and new team lead of communications. Our goal is to work with the membership to continually improve commnication channels. New VFW Post 3137 WebsiteWe're very pleased to announce the most recent addition in our arsenal, the VFW Post 3137 "Post on the Coast" website. While Facebook and email have been means of getting information out, the website will allow for expanded reach to our membership, all veterans and the general public worldwide. Promoting the post through website allows us to keep everyone better informed and expand our mission "Honor the Dead While Helping the Living". Facebook has been integrated into the website and the Facebook page has a link back to the website. vfwpost3137.orgThe site contains information About Us, News & Events, integrated Calendar, Directions, Contact Us, Special Events and VFW Gear. In the days and weeks ahead even more information will start appearing and updates occurring regularly. We're just getting started.
So what does this mean for the Facebook page? Facebook will continue communications through Social Media. We have 792 Page Likes, 2,115 People who have Checked in Here and as of the time of this email 166 People Talking About This. As we increase awareness, watch these numbers grow. Share, post to the page, send your photos and let's keep it moving.
You can visit the website to see what's going on, follow the Facebook posts but we also recognize Email communications is essential to push information out and increase awareness.
