University of Alabama Student Looking for IOP Post Veterans - Share Your Story!

"I am a student at the University of Alabama, and I am currently writing multiple essays dealing with active and retired military. Specifically, the process and aftermath of returning home from deployment.

To this end, I am looking for veterans willing to talk with me about their experiences relating to this topic. I will be in Isle of Palms for spring break all of next week (3/11 to 3/17), but I would like to use some of that vacation time to talk with any of your post members that might be interested in sharing their stories with me. Please let me know if this is a possibility, and thank you so much! "

This month it's time to start thinking about April elections. All officer positions at post 3137 are open and we 're looking for nominees. Let your voice be heard. Then prepare to be there in April for voting.

These meetings are also an opportunity for everyone to stay in touch and be a part of all that we do at post 3137 to support our fellow veterans, their families, and the mission of the VFW.  Many important topics that affect you, and the operation of our post, including business related items, post improvements, and upcoming social events are discussed and crucial decisions are made at these meetings.

Women in the Military - Vogue Magazine's 125th Series

Jackie Nickerson and Alessandra Codinha created a wonderful project for Vogue Magazine's 125th Series. It depicts the women in combat dating back to the American Revolution. It is incredibly inspiring. Support the women in service and the Veterans who have returned from combat for they most often go unrecognized.
