All Hands On (or off) Deck Beginning Monday February 18th, 2019
As with any building, over time maintenance will only take you so far. Due to safety concerns with the large crowds that gather on the deck for various events, age, and overall condition, the time has come to replace the entire structure. The membership was presented a plan and budget which was approved in January. Quotes have been solicited and reviewed by the House Committee presented in the February meeting and finalized. Due to the size of the project, the upgrade complete overhaul will incorporate improvements and features for better use above and below deck.
Work will begin Monday February 18th, 2019. Steak Night and all other deck activities will be CLOSED until further notice. We anticipate the entire project may take 2-3 weeks. Stay tuned for more information as the project moves forward in time for the Spring and Summer seasons..
VFW Post 3137 Monthly Post Auxiliary Meeting

Members are encouraged to actively participate and hope you can attend. Meetings are an opportunity for everyone to stay in touch and be a part of all that we do at post 3137 to support our fellow veterans, their families, and the mission of the VFW.

Flag Disposal and Ceremony

The Flag Disposal Committee members and volunteers will be sorting and properly preparing worn American flags for disposal. A ceremony is held to properly retire the flags and the remains are buried at the base of the flag flying beach side of the post.
Member are welcome to assist or be present for the ceremony. Another great community service our post offers!
Commissioning Ceremony of the USS CHARLESTON (LCS 18)

The Navy League of Charleston is presently collecting registrations for all who wish to attend and witness the entry of this 6th U.S. Navy vessel to be named USS CHARLESTON. While it is not yet known how many tickets will be available for distribution, we encourage you to sign-up now and begin the process. It will not be until at least mid-February 2019 when we will know final details on ticket availability. In the meantime, please complete the registration form.
