Honoring Our Comrade Charles Frederick Gilmer, Jr.
As his loving wife Jean stated, "He was a fun loving guy and life of the party. As of today, he is now partying with those that have gone before him and his Lord. Those who knew him know how he loved golf, people, finding golf balls and giving to friends." Visitation and Services Saturday July 13, 2019His Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 13, 2019 in J. HENRY STUHR CHAPEL MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends Saturday in the Mount Pleasant Chapel from 9:00 am until time of the service. Chuck was born April 30, 1935 in Abington, Pennsylvania, son of the late Charles Frederick Gilmer, Sr. and the late Edith Adams Gilmer. He served in the United States Air Force, Air Force Reserves and the Air National Guard for twelve years. Chuck retired from Storz Instruments and worked part time for 5 years after he retired for Crestpoint Management, all in medical sales. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Jean M. Gilmer; five children, Kimberly Reeves of Dacula, GA, Pamela Kachmar of Lilburn, GA, Gary Gilmer of Appling, GA, Chad McDonald of Charleston, SC and Cary McDonald of Wando, SC; and brother, John Gilmer of Columbus, NJ. VFW Post 3137 Reception from 12:00pm - 2:00pmIn Chuck's honor, the VFW on behalf of the family will receive family and friends from 12:00pm to 2:00pm on Saturday July 13, 2019.
