VFW Auxiliary Family Freedom Festival

The VFW Auxiliary to Post 3137 will be hosting its first VFW Auxiliary Family Freedom Festival on Saturday, March 7 from 12:00 - 4:00, in conjunction with the Isle of Palms Front Beach Fest. The VFW Auxiliary Family Freedom Festival is a VFWA National initiative to promote patriotism in our community, and create awareness of and support for our Post and our Auxiliary, and what we do for veterans and the community. We will have flag folding demonstrations, the Single Soldier Table and explanation, poppies and explanation of why we use poppies as a remembrance symbol, and other activities.
We would greatly appreciate everyone coming out to volunteer, or just enjoy the day, and support your Post and Auxiliary at the same time. You can signup here to Volunteer.
The Family Freedom Festival is a family-friendly, all-ages opportunity for your Auxiliary to:
- Show your community what the Post/Auxiliary offers; how you positively impact your community.
- Promote patriotism in your community.
- Connect families of veterans and active-duty military with Auxiliaries.
- Create awareness of and support for legislative initiatives.
- Increase membership for the Post/Auxiliary
- Provide youth with scholarship and volunteer opportunities
- Young American Creative Patriotic Art Contest, Voice of Democracy, Patriot's Pen, etc.
- Boost the number of volunteers at the Post, medical facilities, for special events/projects and for veterans and active-duty military families (yard/house work, etc.)
- Include an aspect of every National Program in one event.
VFW Post 3137 Monthly Comrades Meeting
Monday March 9, 2020 @ 6:30pm!
This is officer nomination month for elections of the upcoming 2020-2021 cycle. Nominations will be made and remain open through election day. Elections will be held during the following month's Comrades meeting on Monday April 13, 2020.
Miss a meeting, miss a lot! Our meetings are always a great opportunity for everyone to stay in touch and be a part of all we do at post 3137 to support our fellow veterans, their families, and the mission of the VFW. Important topics which affect you and the operation of our post, including business related items, post improvements, and upcoming social events are discussed and crucial decisions.

The Front Stairs Replacement Project is complete with clean stained appearance, non-slip treads on each step, lights on each riser and marine grade stainless steal 100% compliant handrail. Thanks our vendors, volunteers and to everyone for the patience and support during the upgrade.
The elevator is fully operational and repaired. Please be observant of operations. Do not send freight, supplies or cargo up and down unattended, a Person Operator in the elevator is required.

Rent the downstairs of VFW Post 3137 for any type of celebration! Birthdays, Wedding Receptions, Graduations and Retirements!
Prices:
VFW Post 3137 Members (minimum 1 year member) $350.00/day.
VFW Post 3137 Members less than 1 year and other VFW Posts or Active Duty $450.00/day.
All Others $550.00/day.
