2020 VFW Post 3137 Elections

Fellow Post 3137 Comrades,

As we approach our 2020-2021 Post officer elections in June, the two primary goals of your Post leadership is to provide everyone with the safest possible environment in which to vote, and to allow for the maximum number of Comrades that choose to come to the Post and cast their vote for their favorite candidates.

Our Post Adjutant is announcing the following voting method and procedures that we will be following, keeping these two goals at the forefront.

I personally look forward to seeing many of you at our Post as we vote and elect our 2020-2021 staff of Post officers.

To: All Comrades in Good Standing

COVID 19 has affected many of our personal activities. It has also affected many of the scheduled activities of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of The United States at the National, State, District, and Post Levels. Fortunately, our bylaws contain procedures for the matter at hand, our annual election of officers.

BYLAWS ARTICLE II, Sec. 217 Provides procedures for conducting elections using a poll system.

Consistent with the procedures:

Post 3137 officer nominations, will close May 27, 2020 to allow the final ballot to be completed.

Elections will be held June 8, 2020 in the Post downstairs rental area from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM. Members in good standing with valid credentials are eligible to vote. Absentee ballots and proxy votes are prohibited.
