VFW Post 3137 Monthly Comrades Meeting

Monday July 13, 2020 @ 1800 Hours! - Downstairs

Due to the up-tick in Coronavirus cases in Charleston County, the wearing of masks will be mandatory for the meeting . Masks are available and will be provided if you do not have one. The meeting will be held in the downstairs rental area at the Post. Please refrain from bringing beverages to the downstairs meeting room.

Although we do not have many pressing matters to attend to and a shortened agenda, we do have three elected post positions to nominate and vote on, and committees to appoint.

The first position is that of One-Year Trustee. Vicki Johnson resigned from this position in June to become Post Adjutant.  Comrade Chris Jackson has been serving in this position until elections could be held.  The replacement will serve the remainder of the term. The next two positions are the two elected House Committee members. These positions are historically elected for one-year terms.

Therefore, please consider who the nomination for the three positions should be. If you do have a nominee and they are not at the meeting, in accordance with VFW Bylaws have a written statement from them accepting your nomination.

All IOP directives concerning COVID 19 will be adhered to and a copy of the IOP guidelines will be on hand for review.

2019-2020 All State and All American Post on the Coast™

Thanks to the continued partnership, and hard work by our Comrades and Auxiliary Members, our Post has once again earned the right to be named a South Carolina All State Post and a National All American Post for 2019-2020. We have been honored with these prestigious awards for the past 4 years in a row.

It was also announced Past Post Commander, Buddy Gillam (2016-2020) was named the South Carolina Post Commander of the Year for 2019-2020.

Previously announced, Post 3137 was also chosen as the South Carolina Community Service Post of the Year for 2019-2020.

Congratulations to everyone, we can all be very proud of these accomplishments and what we all stand for at our Post!
