Comrades and Auxiliary Members - WhatsApp
We are pleased to announce that we have joined WhatsApp and we have launched a group chat that will serve to help us all keep in touch and up to speed on Post activities. We believe this will afford all with the opportunity to stay in touch and communicate with one another in real-time. We are encouraging all to join the conversation. In the WhatsApp group, we will share upcoming events of note, important news and it will serve as a platform for committees to communicate with us all about items they feel are relevant to our common success.

Veterans Day at the Post
Thursday November 11, 2021 Opening at 12:00pm
Join us to celebrate Veterans Day 2021. We'll have $2 Hamburgers and hot dogs from the grill, Also featured with be our own tap beer "Red, White and Brew" made by the our own Post members at Tradesman Brewing Company. A special thank you to Scott and Sara Gayle McConnell and Chris Winn at Tradesman for their expertise and support.
Vettes for Vets Rolling into IOP, VFW and Neighboring Businesses
November 12-14, 2021
1st Annual Vettes for Vets in Isle of Palms, SC - 3 Day weekend event for Corvette owners, enthusiasts, Veterans, and Patriots! Live Entertainment, Car Show, Fund Raising, and Comradery. Organized by VFW member Jason Dores, proceeds will benefit VFW Post 3137.
Friday November 12 - Vettes for Vets - Happy Hour - VFW, Dingy, Windjammer
Saturday November 13 - Vettes Parade of Cars from Patriots point to IOP VFW
Sunday November 14 - Check Presentation.

VFW Auxiliary Post 3137 - Family Freedom Festival
Saturday December 4, 2021 - 2:00pm
Please join us in celebrating the Family Freedom Festival on Saturday, December 4, 2021 starting at 2:00 The purpose of this family friendly festival is to promote community awareness and youth education about the mission of the VFW, and how the Auxiliary assists in meeting the goals of the mission.
Please plan to stop by the Post and bring your family and friends! And you can also bring a new, unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots if you wish.
More details to follow as they become available! So come out to support your Post on the Coast™!

Toys for Tots - VFW Post 3137 Donation Center
Collections Now through December 12, 2021
Our toys for tots box is back through December 12th. Please take the time to bring your unwrapped toy by our post so it will be ready for pick up.....you do not need to be a member to drop off a toy, bike or gift for a child to have for Christmas. All age ranges needed into early teens.
If anyone is interested in volunteering with Toys for Tots this year at the Toys for Tots Factory, you can do so any day of the week. Mon-Fri 11am-6pm, Saturday 10am-6pm. If you go, please remember to track your hours and mileage for service hours reporting.
They have a new location this year.

Communications
Keeping Members Informed of Post Activities
Communications is a challenging job and we need your assistance to keep everyone informed. We have a variety of communications tools at our disposal from word-of-mouth, meetings, internet, computers, smartphones, posting of events in the post, email, now WhatsApp and more.
If you the member or a committee have an event you want distributed by internet, email, social media, in the post etc.
PLEASE write it up with all the particular details of the news, WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN, WHY, HOW, and send them to vfwpost3137@gmail.com so we can get it to the appropriate communications channels.
Don't forget to include links, images or other details relative to the story.
We can't publish what we don't know. So get active, be proactive, participate, do not procrastinate!
