VFW Patriots Courtyard Ceremony

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3137, better known as "Post on the Coast", will dedicate a newly renovated "Patriots' Courtyard" that honors veterans on Saturday, May 14th at 11 AM. The event is open to the public and an opportunity for our community to collectively celebrate Military Appreciation Month.

Sidewalk / Courtyard Project Fundraiser
Purchase Your Engraved Paver Brick
Our latest Paver Brick Fundraiser to aid in safety improvements, beautification of our entrance way with both post and beach access. All patriots welcome to purchase an engraved paver.
Features include:
- Widening the sidewalk from 4 to 8 feet
- Remove standing water from heavy rain
- Enhanced Courtyard area
- Center and perimeter Seating Wall
- New Lighting to improve night visibility
- Memorial Garden to our Veterans
We are accepting applications for the first engraving period from present day through the end of August. Paver Bricks sponsored will be etched on-site in September. We will continue to accept applications for future engraving periods.

VFW's "Sport Clips Help A Hero Scholarship"

Today's veterans can face any number of obstacles while furthering their education. Taking advantage of all the benefits you've earned and DESERVE shouldn't be one of them! This is why VFW has teamed up with Student Veterans of America and Sport Clips Haircuts to provide the assistance you need.
Scholarships: The VFW's "Sport Clips Help A Hero Scholarship" provides service members and veterans with the financial assistance they need to complete their educational goals without incurring excessive student loan debt. It's just another way for us to say "thank you" to those who fought for our freedoms.

Salute to Our Heroes
Saturday May 7, 2022 @ 11:00 am - Doors open at 9:30 am
Senator Tim Scott is honoring everyone who served in the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. If you are a Veteran, Active Military or Active or Retired National Guard, you are invited to a special ceremony honoring your service. If you served as a contractor or civil servant, or if you participated in Operation Enduring Freedom or this 20-year effort in any way, you are also invited to this special ceremony.
This event will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Seacoast Church, 750 Long Point Road, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464. YOU MUST RSVP TO ATTEND THIS EVENT. Senator Scott would like to personally thank you for your service and for your contribution to this effort. The ceremony will begin promptly at 11:00 a.m. and doors will open at 9:30 a.m. In addition, veteran service organizations and non-profits will be in the reception hall to assist with any special services you may need.

Post 3137 Monthly Comrade Meeting

Memorial Day Buddy Poppy Drive and Service

Buddy Poppy Drive from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm

Lowe's Home Improvement 1104 Market Center Blvd, Mt Pleasant
VFW volunteers will be at Lowe's to hand out Buddy Poppy's and accept donations. Come out and join us.
Memorial Day Service @ 3:00 pm

The Post will open at 12:00 noon. Memorial Day Service 3:00 pm on the deck. The US Air Force will grilling Hot Dogs and Hamburgers for sale from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

Keeping Members Informed of Post Activities

Communications is a challenging job and we need your assistance to keep everyone informed. We have a variety of communications tools at our disposal from word-of-mouth, meetings, internet, computers, smartphones, posting of events in the post, email, and more.
If you the member or a committee have an event you want distributed by internet, email, social media, in the post etc.
PLEASE write it up with all the particular details of the news, WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN, WHY, HOW, and send them to vfwpost3137@gmail.com so we can get it to the appropriate communications channels.
Don't forget to include links, images or other details relative to the story.
We can't publish what we don't know. So get active, be proactive, participate, do not procrastinate!
